I'm usually a big fan of the Apple free apps .... but at this point Safari sux! The bookmarks don't even work consistently. A bookmark click generates a little file on my desktop???? I've looked at help ... seems to say this should work in the normal browser convention. Some of the preloaded bookmarks work ... some do not (eg CNN)
WTF .... O????

I like it!
But, is there a way to transfer cookies from IE so I don't have to sign in to all of the sites I visit that 'remember me' in IE?
Also, what do you need to do to get a Google search going? I typed in my keyword but can't figure out how to get it to do the search.
Thanks

I want to like Safari, most likely because it is Apple, but how can they have left Tabbed browsing out of it? If you are ever going to compare 2 or 3 different things (whether buying something or researching something) the best way to move between the pages is with Tabbed windows. If you are on Broadband I think the speed issue is not as important as most all browsers load lightning fast, probably more important for Dial-Up.
Why is the text so small on the board in Safari, I tried changing the font size in preferences, but it didnt make it any larger.
Kind of like the Apple Pro Mouse, beautiful, but lacking in functionality.
And yes, I know it is a Beta version. If they offer Tabbed browsing in the next version, Ill switch. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Astorian:
Go to Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
In the left "Collections" column, the folder on the bottom should say "Imported IE Favorites"
DrewAZ:
After you type your keyword in the Google search bar, press return

I've been using it (safari) for three hours now and it's really nice.
Faster than even Chimera (especially if you click the back arrow...that really zips back a page fast!) and more aesthetically pleasing...if you prefer the die-cast steel look of iApps that is.
I, like many others, would like to see a tabbed browsing feature. I'll probably just switch between Chimera and Safari for a while.

Safari has made the internet a beautiful past time. However, any site that I go to that has Flash in it, animates very slow. Other than that, goodbye Chimera, hello safari.
P.S. - Is there an easy way to transfer my keychain passwords to Safari without having to add each one individually?

I have just finished customizing Safari, and I am enjoying the speed, and that Apple coolness factor. Realizing Safari is still in beta version, it does not draw some web pages properly, especially on my company's intranet site. On my wish list for Safari, I would like to see: From Cimera-the bookmark "sidebar", From IE- Forms Autofill. But alas I do not want a bloated browser either.
I hope Chimera still makes it out of beta and can provide worthy competition for Safari, assuming Safari will be out of beta soon. The two browsers could challenge one another for the need of constant improvement and development. Personally, I am tired of Micrsoft's IE treating the Mac OS as some ugly little step child. I hope both of the browsers Safari and Chimera render IE worthless to the Mac OS someday.
