I pre-ordered my copy and had it installed on my Powerbook G4 1.67 GHz by shortly after lunch on Friday. I am pleased to report that installation was totally uneventful. I should add that my system was pretty clean due to hard drive corruption forcing an erase and install a few weeks earlier.
The only thing I noticed after the upgrade was that a few connections changed, probably because Apple moved things, but none of those required more than a click or two to correct. For example SpamSieve needed its plugin reinstalling. I also went through and deleted all my old 10.4 folders to make things uniform.
On the whole I am very happy with the update. Although there are no killer apps for me (at this point), each application seems to have a little something extra that really improves productivity. The speed also seems pretty snappy, possibly more so than 10.4, but its always a matter of perspective.
I do like the new icons, they are quite classy. When you look at them in quick look they seem to have the texture of hand made paper. Once someone updates my icon program to match, I'll be all set!
The only downside seems to be STACKS. What idiot forgot to to add sub menus? As things stand it is completely and utterly useless. Worse still, in fan mode you cannot see all your folders, and it is virtually without options /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif I'm sure someone will find a work around, as they already have done for the dock and menu bar, although I quite like them.
