I'm having some trouble with iPhoto 5. A few days ago, after my PowerBook crashed a few times, I noticed some recent photos were missing from iPhoto. Then I noticed the total items in my iPhoto was down by about 1000. I have a back-up but unfortunately ran SuperDuper before I noticed these issues. I looked in the iPhoto library and saw all the pics - thank goodness - and was able to re-import most of them. However, most of the titles and all the customized dates for these re-imported photos had reverted to their originals. My library is about 12GB so maybe this is getting too big for iPhoto to manage without problems? It seems to have been crashing on me more frequently lately, in fact the PowerBook is doing that. Is there any way to get those customized titles and dates back? And is there a better way to manage my "large" iPhoto library? I should mention I recently replaced my hard drive with a Seagate 160GB model.
Thanks

I'm actually having similar iPhoto 5 problems as well. Except mine enjoys freezing on me and being selective about which photos it decides to download from my camera. -_- A friend of mine said I should defrag but I really have no idea what I'm doing so...yeah. XD Help?

To better manage your photos, try breaking your library down into smaller chunks. Hold down the option key when you start iPhoto. You will be prompted to select a library or create a library. Choose create and go from there. Then, export a block of photos (perhaps by dates or occasions) to the new library. Do this as many times as you need to get your libraries to a managable size. If you then open iPhoto without holding down the option key, it will default to the last library you had open. I have done this, putting most of my photos onto an external, and only keeping the last two years or so on my internal. I have started to use/play around with iPhoto Library Manager, and it seems like it will do a good job. But mostly, you should break down your library into smaller chunks. Should help a lot.
As far as an easy way to get your dates, etc. back, I'll leave that to someone more proficient than I am.
Good luck!
