Be sure to export your bookmarks from 2 first!! Just in case!
So far, so good. My extensions are all dead on v3b but the speed of the browser seems pretty good for a beta version.
And now we have the pretty OS X web widgets. MUCH better than the Linux look or the Firefoxy'd widgets. So far, I like!
On to more testing...

Just started testing it. Hoping it is better than 2.x which I found to be somewhat slow in opening and displayed some pages (high traffic web sites) incorrectly. It already shows one of those pages perfectly. Not sure if it will convince me to move away from Safari though. I have been mostly sold on Safari for a while now.
One note: it does not automatically download to the default downloads in Leopard - this would be nice in the final version. Easy enough to change, but would be nice to be a standard setting upon installation.

I haven't tried this myself, but on another forum, someone said that modifying each extension's install.rdf to bump max version to 3.* works. If you do this be sure to backup install.rdf first.
Edit: I just tried this, and it seems to work. All my extensions work.

Been using the FF 3 beta on my work Windoz PC since it was released. Memory usage usually runs 60-65K on my machine -- much higher than FF 2. Opera runs at a svelte 5K. Several times a day my half-a-gig computer is bought to it's knees by FF when the memory usuage grows to 400+K.
I'm trying the new extension for 3 called RAM Back to fix this problem. It's helps, but only a little. It won't brink back a 400,000k out of control monster.

Looks good here, but I confess that when it comes to browsing on OS X I'm partial to Camino! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I kept waiting and waiting for Camino to be updated as it promises the potential for the best fully Mac-integrated implementation of Mozilla tech, but nothing happened for a year or so.Looks good here, but I confess that when it comes to browsing on OS X I'm partial to Camino! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
So now that there's been major changes, I'll be giving 1.5 a good look-see. The first place I'll look is GMail, which neither Safari nor my old Camino fully support.
And yes, FireFox is a terrible RAM Hog -- and the more RAM in your machine, the more it appropriates. I saw this happen when I went to 1GB from 512MB, and it happened again when I went to 1.5GB. FF sessions now routinely scarf up half a gig without any notable improvements in performance, forcing me to shut it down when everything bogs down on my system. In my limited use of Safari (I keep looking for a reason to prefer it with all the hype and loyalty it generates among some), I notice a similar phenomenon, but not to the same degree.
