Hi. I'll put this simply:
Computer crashed. Nothing backed up. $900 of music on my iPhone. How do I get it back onto my computer. (And then I'll back it up)

If you bought it through iTunes you can get it back from iTunes.

I haven't seen it in action with an iPhone, but on one of my iPods, when I connected it to a virgin iTunes, iTunes recognized that there were songs I purchased on the iPod and offered to transfer them over to iTunes for me. Of course, iTunes has to be already configured with your account info before doing that. It only did that to the songs I purchased through that main account. No other accounts, and no songs I ripped from CDs.

The same thing happened to me and while I was at the Apple Store waiting to see if the geniuses could pull anything off of my hard drive (which they couldn't) I was surfing on my iPhone and saw the posting on the macworld iphone blog about the iPhoneDrive, so as soon as I got my new hard drive installed, this was the one of the first programs I purchased and it worked like a charm. I was able to very easily copy all of my music to my hard drive and then import it into iTunes with no trouble at all. I also had hundreds of photos on my iPhone that I was able to restore as well. I highly recommend it!
