Yeah, well, a book titled "I Just Bought Leopard, Now What?" would be in good order.

I agree with both posts above. A couple of these ads can be pointed right at Apple right now.

American ideas of Hilarious seems to be the polar opposite of opinion across the pond.

Presumably this is why Apple has Mitchell and Webb doing their very own special Apple UK Get a Mac ads. This American thought they were funny.

I don't know about that. I do find David Tennant's Doctor pretty funny, including in the Time Crash short. OTOH, I never could see the attraction in Benny Hill, Mr. Bean or Monty Python.

This current series seems to be one of, if not the, longest-running one Apple has ever done. They've GOT to have stats to back that up, which MUST mean they're effective.
I think they're an ideal medium for pushing people's buttons. They're like a micro comedy series--an open stage or blank canvas on which to compose just about any message.
Apparently Justin Long is happy with their success, too. I thought he also did a good job in "Live Free or Die Hard".

Netizen.
The whole Benny Hill thing seems more in the American psyche than Englands. Last time Benny Hill was in was when I was a young lad, some 20 years ago. Yes it was crap.
However to not understand Monty Python, in context of its time. Well. I guess you guys like American TV, so we'll leave it there.
I find these Apple adverts terrible, in both American and UK versions. Luckily apple seem to agree, I have ever seen them played on UK TV only iphone and ipod ads.

Culture bashing is always such an effective means of exposing one's misunderstanding of others and leads to feelings of superiority. I think I will continue to just feel inadequate and laugh at what I find funny to myself.

Thank you for sharing that link. It was very amusing to see their take on it.

I'm not sure they are supposed to be that funny at all. I thought the importance is to remind users of the problems they have with their PC even when they are not at their PC, and to remind them that there is a very attractive alternative.

They're all great!
PC guy is just a "guy" you gotta feel sorry for, naturally. He's loaded with problems, and Mac tried to help him, honestly!
Whatcha gonna do?
These short bits get to the heart of it. I know people who work for MS. They can't get Vista to work, but Dam the Torpedoes, they won't dare think Mac!
Weird culture, kind of like Chevy/Ford back in the early 60's.
Go Back To Work!
