I live in Brazil and I just purchased an unblocked iPhone that came with 1.1.1 firmware (so I was told). I had to update my iTunes software (I was running 7.0)and now I got 7.5. I haven't plugged my iPhone into my computer yet (a G4 1.67 Powerbook), but before I do I need to know: is there any risk that the new iTunes will re-block my iPhone? Does iTunes ask before installing new firmware for the iPhone? What precautions should I take? Any kind souls out there?

iTunes won't get in your way unless you agree to the update. As others mentioned there is 1.1.2 hacks too, not sure about forthcoming iPhone 1.1.3 hack. Sure wish Apple would just leave the damn phone unlocked. Why can't they just charge say $100 more for an unlocked phone?
