The web site is full of holes. I could not post, see my profile until I signed up for a news letter. Well there more corporate spam. If I cancel the news letter I can not post. What kind of operation is this? Where is their privacy policy?
You're not required to sign up for a newsleter in order to post. There may be default selections on the newsletter management page, but you're under no obligation to sign up.
You had to register as a member, and with the redesign we've brought two basic membership functions - newsletters and forums - under a single registration. Whereas before you had to manage your newsletters subscriptions (if you had any) and forum profile separately. Now that's all under one registration.
The Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Community Standards links are all links in the footer of this page, and every other page on Macworld.com.

I'm really having trouble finding forums. Not enough headlines on the home page, I preferred the long list that I could scan. Everything tucked away into category buckets makes it harder to scroll for interesting stuff.
Overall, I strongly prefer the old organization. The updated graphics are pretty nice. But it's just too hard to find things.
Bring back the MacWeek look!
Also, I couldn't find a general REPLY button, it seems like you can only reply to specific posts from other readers?

That green floating 'Recommend This Story' bar contains a comment button along with e-mail, digg, slashdot, etc.
You can also follow the discussion from the article back into the forums using the inline comments below the story. There's another link to the forums at the bottom of those inline comments.

tuburan,
No, we are not screening your comments. That's just the way the software works. Think of it as a replacement for an excessively long load time.
The comments are on the bottom because that's the way the system is designed. Some people like their posts in chronological order, and some in reverse chronological order. It is a personal preference, and ideally there would be a setting for this in your preferences. However, there is currently not one, nor do I know of one under development.

Delete me, if already brought up.
Any chance string of your sites like this one: Macworld>>Macworld Talk>>Website Feedback
Could be a bigger font and possibly and different color.
To get back to the Forums apart from Community, is to hit Macworld. It would help if you didn't have to search for it.

Kellie,
The lack of such functionality makes me wonder why you didn't just go buy a jelsoft license. I guess transferring the database of posts might have been an issue, but it really seems like you all are reinventing the wheel here.
Still, thanks to your reply above - it's nice to know you are seeing these threads. Reading between the lines leads me to believe there will not be any big changes. Too bad for me. But I wish you luck in your endeavours, who knows, maybe we'll run into each other somewhere else someday.

Are you referring to the speech bubbles? As you can see, I eventually figured it out myself! :p
The one thing I miss about tags though is that it was possible to insert more than one quote into my posts and easier to divide quotes into different parts.

If you're referring to quoting a message you're replying to, you can do that by clicking on the " in the toolbar above the message.
