The new look is overall more sophisticated and pleasant to look at, but the inconsistencies are annoying. For example, there are huge differences in font sizes for no discernable reasons. Someone needs to go through the CSS and figure out why. Take the forum posting interface. The "Post New Thread in Website Feedback" is a pretty large font (bigger than it needs to be), with "Subject" matching in size, then you see a massive, overpowering subject line. I also feel that some of the icons, like the "mice" review ratings, are way too big, overpowering the text around them. Cleaning up these inconsistencies will add polish and quality to the entire look, making it work more effectively.
