Hi
I hope someone can help.
As explained before, i have an imac, a powerbook and an ibook on a small network using appletalk.
What i am trying to do is share the printer. I have read the dummies book from front to back and had no luck.
I open printer center and select apple talk. and there are no options of a printer there. if i use usb the printer is there (deskjet 840c) this is connected to the usb port on my imac. i am at present using my ibook.
I hope someone can help, i am almost bald now, thru tearing my hair out :-)
thankyou in advance and happy new year to you all.

On the computer with the printer go into system preferences/sharing and under services check printer sharing. Now when you go to print form the other computers, select Deskjet 840c on the printer tab.

There are three tabs on the Sharing pane. Services, Firewall, and Internet.

Are you running OS10.2 or higher? USB printer sharing isn't available in 10.1x

I know I know, I am a little behind...... I'll pick it up tomorrow and get it installed, and we can all share the printer :-)

Thanks again people.
