Developing software clients for iphone - Bluetooth

We are developing Python and JavaMe clients to turn mobile phones into remote control handsets for all sorts of electronic devices (toy robots etc). Bluetooth is obviously what we are communicating with. Are there any plans to allow developers to bing with iPhone's Bluetooth? We need to make it a client, rather than web based application in order to control Bluetooth. slowcoach
