Safari loses forms data

I just upgraded to OS 10.4.11 and I upgraded to Safari 3 via the Preferences upgrade panel, only to find out that Safari won?t close individual windows. You can push that little red ball all you want, or go to the menu close window, and none of my windows in Safari 3 will close. I have to quit Safari to close the windows.

So I went back to Safari 2.04. But it won?t fill out any of the forms data on web pages. So I took a parallel computer and dragged all the Safari prefs files and then the user cookies and keychain files over from the computer that works correctly. NO luck. The other computers are on OS 10.4.9.

Can anyone tell me what file or button I'm missing?
