Guys you haven't gotten over the iPhone?! Needless to say it is worthless.
Get yourself a Treo and you will be happy camper.

KGB,

Hah hah. I had a TREO. That's what I traded UP from. Sure, the TREO has more features (if you can find them or use them). And the iPhone is missing some things I would like. But, I love the iPhone man. Hey, ever made a 4 way call on a TREO, then go private with caller 2, then caller 4, back to the group, then hung up callers 2 and 4 and finish with #3.

Didn't think so.

Y'know?

There is one feature that I really really wish my iPhone had: in the calendar, there is a place for "LOCATION" when you enter a meeting time. It sure would be nice if you tapped the location if it went to map it on Google Maps. That is clearly an obvious oversite in my book.

While I'm driving to a meeting, instead of "click on calendar", "click on meeting", "click on location". Three clicks.

Instead, you have to "click on calendar", "click on meeting", memorize address, "click home", "click GoogleMaps", "click FIND", type in the address, city, state, "click Search". Then you see it. Meanwhile I hit two bicycles and rolled off a hill. That's 25 or 30 taps instead of 3. Sheeeesh.

Okay, I liked all of the suggestions above. To that I would like to add...

Dan,
The Google cell tower locator is coming in update 1.1.3. as shown in this iPhone update video.

And, despite what Dan wrote, you can use SMS as an AIM client AND link to a contact. It's just obscure and clunky. Everyone is right about the lack of MMS support: "Please enter this code on AT&T's website to see you attachment"? Puh-leez.

These are the unmentioned additions I'd like in 1.1.4:
1. Flash in Safari, I know you mentioned this, but we also need the ability to TURN OFF Flash or any other plug-in
2. The ability to drag routes in Google Maps
3, Doppler radar on Weather when I turn it sideways
4. The ability to play sound attachments in Mail & Safari (and turn off the same)
5. The ability to click on phone #s, addresses, and URLs in Notes
6. The ability to click on phone #s, addresses, and URLs in Calendar
7. Multiple alerts, custom repeat options, and the ability to link a contact to a Location in Calendar
8. The ability to remove that useless Stocks icon
9. Please let me set ringtones in bulk in Address Book. I've got 1,200 people in my contacts and I'd love to separate family, friends, clients, and vendors with their own ringtones.
10. Better speakers and volume control. Speakphone is just useless.

And FWIW all of these suggestions in this forum are useless unless everyone sends their suggestion into Apple.

memory card support would be nice. storage would only be limited by the amount of memory cards you carry.

A reduced iWork and a bigger flash drive are also in my wishlist. And 3/3.5G, of course.

But even more important is an announcement of when the iPhone with these features will be available in Asia.

Once it's available, however, iTunes stores should also be available for purchases anywhere in the world. Do you know that iTunes payments are country-specific? How narrow can a market get?

"The inability to delete multiple messages in the iPhone's Mail application was one of the most frequent complaints from iPhone users on our staff back in July, and it remains unaddressed in the new year."

Touch the "Edit" button, then touch the red minus signs next to each of the messages you want to delete. I know, it's not the same as selecting multiple messages prior to a delete operation, but I've found it to be just about as quick in practice.

The #1 issue is and should be complete integration with desktop apps such as...
Finder, Mail, iChat, Address Book, iCal, iPhoto, iTunes, PhotoBooth, Dictionary, KeyNote, Pages, iSync, .Mac, Safari bookmarks, etc. We should be able to QuickLook virtually any document we transfer over from our Macs.
With any & all of these you should be able to connect via WiFi /Bluetooth, view as external drive and backup, copy, move, clone, sync, etc.
Just as the iPod/iTunes is given credit for introducing and swaying 100s of 1000s of Windows converts, a properly done iPhone will do the same for 10s of millions!

I can't believe this one isn't listed...The Iphone and Itouch should be able to play music through the airtunes base stations since it has wifi.

Would be great to have an option of keypad in other languages like Russian for SMS and e-mails. as well as notes.

Using my iPhone in my car with a Belkin cradle and directly wired via the docking port, two things are driving me crazy:
1) in iPOD mode, the controls are WAY too small, and depend on being hit dead-center to respond. WHY???? It's a touch-screen. They could have been made huge, and it would be fine. I'm trying to drive here! Why make it so hard to press accurately?
2) it would be nice to have in-coming phone calls' sound routed to the car's speakers when the phone is docked in my car and music is playing, and especially if I put the call on speaker. It's very handy to put the caller on speaker. I just wish the speaker in question was the car's. They seem to hear me well.
3) Like others have said, the option of landscape mode for SMS would be nice.
All these could be so easily addressed via software updates.
The first point, to me, is shocking and inexcusable on a iPOD with such a flexible display. At the very least have several "skins" to choose from, featuring larger buttons on one. I'd much rather have large, responsive controls than useless album art. Perhaps a "car mode" for iPOD mode would do the trick.
I may have to find an RF remote control at this rate (for safety, and sanity).
