-Hi,
Hmm, not sure anything can be done on the other end for the message boards to load faster. Both our Macs, at different times, load very slow. DP G4 2GB RAM + iMac G5 2GB RAM (tons of disk space). Yes, trashed logs/cache/, etc. w/ Cocktail. They load like the Apple's discussion boards do at times. Using broadband, but its like driving on an 8 lane highway, then narrows to 1/2 lane. No disrespect to anybody, but often times the fun is gone viewing the boards. Anybody have an idea for a snappier loading of the forums? Maybe its do to being new ::grasping for a clue:: :_|

Thanks -Jason for your reply. I know the tech folks have put a LOT of work in to these here boards for the better. And in the near future I'm optimistic more kinks will be eliminated. Including faster viewing/posting on the message boards. In the past the finger was pointed towards eBay for slow loading (graphic intense). But I believe that was do mostly for poor/slow Internet connection.
Thanks again for acknowledging the 'need for speed'.

Hey Doug,
I've hardly been here because the pages load so slow. It seems like using a 14.4 modem, except slower.
I thought by now a lot of changes would have been made but I guess not.
I've got a 24" iMac, dsl, 10.4.11, lot's of ram but..........
And I have to use FF because Safari isn't right. I can logout and still make changes.
I was wondering if it was me/my computer as well, but I guess not.
Peter

Hi -Peter,
Yes, the boards have been extremely slow since Friday (Sat/Sun) being the worse. But I think the 'Big Cheese' called this to the attention of some of the web master folks (who have been working hard) and now seems much faster this Sun. afternoon.
We are on the road to recovery it seems. Hope it stays FAST and doesn't revert back to slow dial-up modem style. :D

Kellie,
MW does seem to be loading a lot quicker for me. (today)
It also seems the bug or whatever in Safari after logging out and still being logged in has been fixed.
I logged out, closed Safari, opened Safari, but had to log back in to make changes. I guess thats a good thing. :)
If this navigation line was bigger (throughout the Forum), it would also help to go back and forth.
"Macworld>Macworld Talk> Website FeedbackDiscussions"

BUSTED: I logged out, didn't close Safari, went back to check something else and I'm writing this NOT logged in.

So we've updated the forum software to a new version. That might help.
We are also upgrading all the hardware that runs the forum software. It just arrived and should be running next week. That should help a bunch.
We're also talking with the vendor of our forum software next week to let them know about our (and your) many issues with the software.
In short, we know that the forum software has been messed up and there are a lot of people over here trying to get it straightened out. Your patience is highly appreciated, as we realize how frustrating this entire transition has been.
