Discuss away though I wouldn't have the slightest of what about. I agree that Apple could have offered it free and users would have been happier but there's no reason they had to. I didn't mean to suggest there aren't reasons for whatever opinion you may have but I just don't see anything other than an open and shut case.

I've read thru 2 hours of blog posts and can't find anywhere how I can now sync my Outlook NOTES with my new Ipod Touch NOTES section. PLEASE HELP!!
I read one post that hoped for an "easier way to sync notes" which must mean that there is a way to do it.
Can anyone walk me thru it? Would TRULY appreciate it. Thanks again.
Best ~

I'm just a little surprised you didn't just get them iPhones? Don't you love your children???
Like you ended with, you aren't too worried about it but obviously bent out of shape enough in the first place to have bothered to post.

The kids should be totally stoked daddy is giving them some real Grown Up Electronics instead of the mere iPods their classmates have. Those kids must have parents who don't love them as much! ;-)
Surprised you didn't just get them iPhones. Anyway, you had to be peeved enough to post in the 1st place.
Me? I wish the new apps were "free" also, but that's life. I was happy enough to get the iPt as it was for what I paid for it a couple of months ago. I coulda waited. But I didn't. That's life.

You could be in for an even better deal.
I thought I read somewhere that if you bought the "old" iPod Touch after some date in January then you were entitled to the $20 upgrade for free - so you would really be getting a good deal versus MacMall's price on a "new" one with the upgrade installed.
How you prove your "late" purchase and where you get the apps from in that case I do not know, but surely someone on this board will know if I am right and how you make it happen.
Good luck - me, I'm gonna hold out for a few more months and see it they up the memory to 32GB for the iPod Touch

Thanks for the info. We'll see how that works out. It may be that the 16Gb may become 2nd fiddle to a 32Gb but I'm not sure memory prices will allow that and keep the high end price @ $399. However, that would be great. Considering how much I will use it, 8Gb should be more than enough for me. Most of the PDA's still have a 32Mb memory limitation and cost nearly double what the Touch costs and without Wi-Fi at that! That's what the Touch is in reality with the new apps, a really neat PDA that does much more than either an audio/video player or PDA by themselves. The iPhone is a neat idea but the monthly costs are a show stopper. I use a pay-as-you-go cell that does a good job meeting my needs. That's where the Touch can shine with these new apps.
It was the addition of the new apps that finally made the Touch make sense vice the iPod Nano which I had been considering. Its also limited to 8Gb but less.
Anyway, thanks. I hope you get that 32Gb.

It's an amazing little device and although it's not perfect, it's about as close to perfect as anything I own.

While I understand Apple's decision to charge money for the new applications the new $20 "application pack" also includes a SYSTEM UPDATE in the form of the home page editing, web clips, and lyrics features. All of these are updates to the currently existing iPod Touch software and NOT new applications, which means that they ought to be free to all users of the iPod Touch.
Adding insult to injury these applications are all hidden in the 1.1.3 system update, a whopping 104.4mb file that all users must download if they want to fix bugs in the system. These applications can only be used when you pay Apple $20 to "unlock" them, but even if you decide not to buy them they stay on your iPod taking up precious space that could be used for songs, videos, or photos.
Apple is normally wonderful when it comes to providing system support and updates, but having them shaft early adopters and loyal fans like this is offensive and shows that Apple has absolutely no regard for the iPod Touch community.
