The Sanyo Xacti & Casio Exilim are cameras, NOT CamCORDERS.

Sure they can to video, but not like a true camcorder. Your argument is invalid.

Fail

My Sanyo Xacti is both a high def camcorder and a digital camera. Since it records in high def, it's better than my old tape based "true camcorder". It records both to files on a SD card, so it's easy to get the video to my computer.

The Air is for all of those people who own flash based video/still cameras like the Sany Xacti or Casio Exilim. Images are transfered by USB. Firewire is not needed. Images are uploaded to the Web. DVD burners are not needed. That's the Air program, the Air style.

Apple is also pushing their purchased or rented video, so they probably don't want people buying DVDs or blu-ray movies.

Glad to know there are still several 12"PB fans out there. I was beginning to think I was alone. Mine is now supplemented with a new 20" iMac. I have been using it as my only Mac for the last 3 years and it has been and remains a trooper. Small, slim and functional. The Air is nice looking and will fill the needs of some people but most will want the functionality of regular laptop.

Frantish, you must have learned to talk that way when you stayed in during recess with the teacher. That certainly is not something you would learn on the playground.

I was not making an argument. I was stating a fact. Our flash based still/video cameras use USB. My wife, the traveler, thinks the Air might make a good computer for her given the USB, the wireless circles she is in, and her enjoyment of iTunes offerings.

Have fun playing with your straw man true camcorder and musing about something the Air is not.
