Number one on my wishlist is support for a MLB.TV subscription. The current client runs on the Mac, and even supports the Apple Remote.

"...Once I have everything up and running I'm going to cancel my cable subscription - which is currently running me about $65 a month. The way I look at it the resulting savings will mean my Apple TV will have completely paid for itself in about 6 months and I'll only be paying for the content I actually want to watch.... "
I too would love for iTunes & my aTV to replace cable, but I just can't make the numbers work.
Looking at the current cost of iTunes TV series, and the price I pay for cable/month (which is more than you). I still only calculate that I could watch just 27 series a year (not season) and still pay the same/or less than cable's monthly fee.
(for those interested, my cable bill is $82/month (including HD and dual tuner DVR) and I estimate an "average" TV series runs about 5 months, so at $35 per iTunes TV series that's basically 27 series a year for the same price as cable.)
Just seems like too few. And that wouldn't include any one-time TV "specials" (like, say, "Shrek the Halls") that come up every so often. I'd have to spend a little more $ to get some sort of Over-the-Air HD tuner for my Mac I suppose...
Don't get me wrong, I love my aTV (and will love it even more after next weeks FREE upgrade (that's number 2)), but I'm still not sure I can give up cable yet... yet...
and to SANTASADLER: You absolutely can access (wired or wirelessly) anything in your iTunes libraries on your aTV. That's one of the biggest selling points! I don't know about after the update, but right now you can even choose which iTunes library you want to access if you're sharing a Mac between family members. (hoping that doesn't "go poof" after the update for some reason...)

If you think 720p is pathetic, here is a link for you regarding 720p vs.1080p
http://reviews.cnet....-6810011-1.html
or better yet, Google "720p vs.1080p"
I doubt Apple overlooked 1080p. Apparently they Googled "720p vs.1080p" as well.

I have the Apple Tv and i like it , but i think they should have added Ichat and safari so you could Video chat with friends and surf the web in your living room. And maybe the weather widgets stock and all. The movie rental would be good if you could watch it as many time as you want from the begining if not i would not rent a movie. i would pay $599.00 for a app[e tv with 160gig and the features .

Are you sure? I've read the ATV product descriptions and specs looking for these features but I haven't found it. I see where you can upload stuff to .mac accounts and that sort of thing. But that's not what I'm looking for. I need access to computers for photos, music and my own DVD and iMovie projects on my local network.{quote}
