I have only had a mac for over a year now but does anyone think they will have a software update so that we can do the same touchpad gestures on the macbook pro I assume its just a software update considering you can already do some gesturing on the MBP.

Will we be able to update the macbook pros to have the same gestures as the Air?

Nope The macbook pro's will also need the new track pad. It's the technology in the pad not the software that allows this.
The trackpad in the macbook, and macbook pro can only tell the movement of one object and two pressure points.
to prove this try placing two fingers on the track pad and sliding them up and down. the screen will scroll.
Now do them same but only move one of the fingers up and down, leaving the other stationary touching the pad, you still get the same affect.
This will most likely come next revision to both the MB and MBP
