SuperDuper is not Leopard compatible at this point. The enclosure that came with my 160 Gig drive is defective. I had to send them 4 different emails over 2 weeks to get them to respond.

This sounds like an excellent, one stop shop offer for a huge notebook hard drive. Too bad it only comes in the 5400 RPM version instead of 7200, which would be more suitable for working on with Aperture, Photoshop, Logic, etc. for the more ambitious or professional laptop user.
What I'd like to see is an article in MacWorld comparing some of these new high-capacity hard drive replacements for the MacBook and MBPro that shows the relative amount of power usage and heat generated as compared to Apple's standard units. I have a stock 100 GB 7200 RPM Seagate drive in my 17" MBPro Core Duo and am thinking of upgrading to a newer drive, possibly a 200 - 250 GB model, so this data would come in handy.

This is a horrible deal.
Just buy a Western Digital 320GB passport drive. They can easily be had for less than $200. Carbon Copy Cloner DOES work. Clone your drive to the external, then carefully pry open the Passport case. Swap the drives and you'll have everything in this deal for a lot less.

Well, 320GB would certainly be an upgrade from the 200GB drive I put in my MacBook Pro Core Duo a year or so ago, but I'm waiting for this bad boy, which supposedly is supposed to show up in February:

500GB!! I'd finally have room for a BootCamp partition that could accomodate Half-Life 2 and all its various expansions/related products. I mean, in addition to my work-related software. *:)
That being said, I agree with jughead - though the convenience of the MCE package is great, it's not a great deal. A quick search shows that the WD 320GB passport drive is only $166 at newegg.com ( http://tinyurl.com/3x4evn ), and SuperDuper is something like $28, for a grand total of $194. That's a large premium to pay for the convenience of the MCE package and the eSATA port on their enclosure, which the Passport lacks. Owie.

Edit to my past post: the Hitachi 500GB notebook drive I linked to above apparently is too tall (12.5mm) for the MacBook Pro. However, Samsung is coming out with its own 500GB drive that's 9.5mm and should fit in the MBP: http://tinyurl.com/2gvxfb
But it's not shipping until March. *:( And, of course, no word on pricing...
