Wow, finally! I've been waiting for a 3rd party, higher capacity battery to show up for the 17" to show up for ages. The $99 price tag and the swell sensor are nice too. :-)
Being as I have a MacBook Pro it allows me to carry a second (or third) extra battery with me if I'm on a long trip or have a long meeting and don't have access to a power outlet--something I can't do with the new MacBook Air. I still think going for slim and sexy to the detriment of having a user-replaceable battery and disk drive was a bad idea.

Higher capacity? 68 Wh vs. 71 Wh is almost identical within experimental error.
The swell sensor is what makes this battery special. And the fact that we have a second source for this particular battery type.

I was thinking the same thing. How much of a difference is there going from 68w to 71w? Maybe not a lot, but it's always nice to have a spare battery anyway.

I get about 4 hours on my 15" MBP battery. This battery would give me about 10 minutes more. That's stretching the meaning of "high capacity", my view. But, to its credit, it's over 30% cheaper than Apple's battery and should have slightly better performance.
