Still waiting for a few features before buying iPod Touch...
* works as USB hard drive [like old iPods]
* runs Preview to read PDFs and other docs which are stored on the drive
* Mobile Safari works with Flash web sites
* Mobile Safari works with Java applets in web sites

I think I'll wait until it has 80GB or better in storage. I don't really want to have to tote around 2 iPods.

Has there been any word yet on whether the increased battery life is down to the hardware or the latest software release?
I've got the option of getting either the 16GB now, or waiting a few more weeks for the 32GB model. I got it through one of those free offer things you might have heard of.
Anyway, not sure whether to just wait or go for the 16GB version. The extra capacity isn't that much of an issue, I'm more concerned about the battery life.

For the love of god.
The ipod touch is not a phoneless iPhone.
The Iphone has the following non-phone advantages not shared by an iPod touch:
Free software updates
EDGE capability (even if you don't use it, its still there)
Camera
Supposedly better screen
Speakers to play media
Everything that works on an iPod touch works on an iPhone.

I would like my i(tiny festish object)Touch to save web images and offline web pages and maps and enter calendar/contact info. ;-) Otherwise, what does it do? ...by itself without having to use the computer? I don't necessarily need more features. I just need functionality. No web saving is like window shopping - just looking. It's like going to the prom without dancing - just standing against the wall. It's like going to work but not working - just place holding.

I was able to pick up the 32gb touch from J&R, and so far I love it. I'll be picking up a case so that the face doesn't get smudged with fingerprints. Highly recommend J&R btw, very fast shipping!!
