Has anybody else had this problem or know a solution?
A colleague was writing his dissertation using Word and was running into the "Disk full Error" and I persuaded him to use Pages08. All went well until yesterday where he lost a productive day of work. Essentially, he has the same routine: in the morning he copies the file he worked on at home to his usb key, saving with an even number in this case xxx.v28. He comes to work, plugs in the usb key and copies the file to his desk top (at 11 am) under the name xxx.v29. Removes the USB key and opens the document in Pages. He made multiple saves to xxx.v29 version from 11am through 8pm. He finally saved and closed the document about 8:15pm. He then plugged his USB key back in, renamed the file from xxx.v29 to xxx.v30 on the HD of the deck top machine and copied the v30 file to his USB key. On opening the file xxx.v30 at home NONE of the changes made during the day were saved! In corroboration --at 6:30 pm my colleague's machine auto-backsup to my desktop machine using RsysncX. I see that a file xxx.v29 was created at 11am and also last modified at 11am on the backup. Checking the backup shows no changes were made after the file was created.
I have no doubt that changes were made and saved during the day.
This is bizarre behavior any suggestions or clues as to what might have happened would be greatly appreciated.
Colleagues machine is G5 running OS-X.4.11 and Pages08 latest version.
