Thanks so much for the valuable information that you have written within this thread. Do you believe that Apple has any intentions of increasing TimeCapsule Wireless Scanning via USB functionality? On my system, I have no problem printing via USB on the TC, but the wireless scanning functionality is not available.

Good question. Apple has never indicated any interest in supporting USB scanners across a network. I doubt they will update their products to handle this. It could obviously be useful, but the interface for remotely accessing a scanner requires a fair amount of adjustment to make it work over a network. The manufacturer would need to build an interface that interacted with components that Apple provided so that the same software could work over a locally connected USB device or a remotely connected one. Some networked USB systems get around this by pretending the USB devices are directly connected, but I haven't heard about a lot of uptake on these sorts of systems, so there may just be too many problems getting them to work.

Glen,

When you do your review, can you comment on the following:

- Can the time machine drive be partitioned?
- Can an attached USB drive be partitioned?
- Can the drive be used as a basic network attached drive for drag-and-drop storage
- Any luck remotely accessing the drives contents over the internet?

Thanks in advance!!

To which I would add:

If the Time Capsule HD becomes corrupted can you repair it with Disk Copy? (My experience has been: no, toss your data and start from scratch; I guess I need a backup drive for my Time Capsule ).
