"What happens when you want to download an update that youa??re supposed to pay for?"
Maybe they just submit a new app to the store and remove the old one?

How does one BACK UP an iPhone? Now we're dealing with apps you pay to obtain, and apps that store data to the iPhone's database -- surely there has to be a way to back this up, right? But I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere.

Will I be able to use the microsoft exchange capabilities in addition to my personal email, calendar and contact information? Will there be two separate calendars?

"Perhaps programmers will be able to restrict network traffic while on EDGE networks and open the throttle when on Wi-Fi networks."

Just FYI... there is sample code to determine the type of connectivity (WiFi v. Edge) under "Reachability" so this should be very easy.

I assume that Apple will provide facilities via the App Store for consumers who have downloaded appications to complain about them if they appear to break the rules?
Will consumers get their money back if Apple withdraws an application?

I haven't found it yet (admittedly haven't done a thorough RTFM) but how about bluetooth support? I could care less about reading from the dock connector if I can have bluetooth connectivity. I won't get to play with the SDK til this weekend.

How does a developer access sync services in order to sync a to-do list with iCal's tasks? It is not documented (that I was able to find). Are developers going to be blocked from accessing sync services?

Can we expect to see iPhone compatible versions of Numbers or Pages, or MS Office (Word and Excel)?

Yes, I think they will, but you will have to buy the upgrade to 2.0 when it comes out to use them (I think the upgrade is 20$?).

This is all good but you know how insatiable we end users are. Since third party developers won't have access to the dock connector, I suppose that I have to pin all of my hopes on Apple. What do I want?
I want to connect my iPhone / iPod touch to a wire that sends the entire screen to a projector, just like Steve Jobs does.
Then, I want Keynote for the iPhone / iPod touch.
I'm sure that this dynamic duo would please the enterprise sector, the education sector and lots of other sectors as well.
Gimmie haveit.

Thanks Graeme_Smith, no problem seeing that I am waiting for the Touch price to come down.

I don't think Apple will lock an application license to a single iPhone/iPod Touch. It should be up to the developer what they want to do with the license and if they want to have a license for as many devices as you want then they could do that. However looking at most software licenses you buy a single use license for a single computer and if you want more then pay again for each computer you use it on.
