Sun to build virtual machine for iPhone

This was raised in different forums, and I'd like to put it up for discussion here. Apple has this to say about it's sdk and running apps on the iPhone verison of OSX:
"No interpreted code may be downloaded and used in an Application except for code that is interpreted and run by Applea??s Published APIs and built in interpreter(s)a?| "
This is so that people's systems can't be hijacked by malicious sites, or cause a significant performance loss. I understand that drive behind it, but there are some sites that haven't developed a version for the iphone that utilize java or flash that i'd like to have, such as banking sites or support forums. I guess for now it's up to the sites to accomodate their users/consumer/constituents, etc.
It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

What if Sun goes ahead and does this anyway? You know some version of the mod would be made available on P2P networks, and people would get it so they can visit certain sites that don't support the iPhone/iPodTouch. Same goes for flash.
Adobe has known for a while that Apple will work directly against any efforts to make flash work on this platform. Apple can disable such abilities with an update to Safari. Same goes for Java.
How likely are these companies to try and pull a fast one? I couldn't tell you, but it's something to consider.
FYI, I wouldn't want these two technologies on my hardware either. Don't think I'm advocating them ;-).
