Thanks for the tip. I always wished for a "New Tab" button in Safari like FIrefox has, but this is actually better!

This works in Camino and Firefox v2 as well.

You can also drag a hyperlink to an empty space in the tab bar to create a new tab containing that page. If you have any empty space, that is. Similar to dragging a link to an existing tab.

It's a great tip and another thing I love about Safari. Also, the way you can drag a tab into a new window is something that is seriously lacking in other browsers.

Neat! I always just right-clicked on a blank space in the tab bar, which pops up a "New Tab" option (similar, but necessitates using the right AND left mouse buttons) - I'll have to remember this trick.

It is a neat little secret - provided the tab bar is already open, but it just seems so silly. Most other browsers have an add "+" tab that you just need to click once. Why doesn't Safari add that? To have to go to the View menu to "Show Status Bar" makes it a waste of time. I'm already in the habit of hitting command-T.

Or simply use Cmd T, even easier

Handy trick, I like it too. On opening a new window I get my homepage automatically. On "opening" a new tab I get a blank page.
How do you get my homepage displayed automatically on the new tab?
My home page is a collection of links I use all the time so I always have to do a second click for "go to the home page" - would be great to leave this click out.
???
Thanks in advance!

That's one I don't know. Tried several different things but still got a new blank tab every time.

Unless your hand is already on your mouse.

That's one of my biggest Safari beefs, as well.
