The new Airport Express N has difficulty extending an Airport Extreme N which is connected to the internet. Network services seem to be accessible via the Express - except internet access.
Please refer to this Apple Discussions Thread.

It seems to be related to WPA security, but not entirely clear at this point.

Hey Gregg,

I actually do just what you're talking about, but for different reasons... I have an older version of the airport express which I used as a wifi hotspot and to stream music to my stereo (apple lossless + optical input to the receiver = bliss). Recently, I bought both the new Airport Express with 802.11n and also a new printer with wireless networking. Unfortunately, the printer was only 802.11g, which slowed down the entire network...

Then I realized that all I had to do was shuffle things around a little... so now I have the airport extreme at my desk, hooked up to the modem, and with an ethernet cable going to the desktop system. It has a network that is exclusively 802.11n, just for web access (for my lapto, throughout the house). At the same time, I have a completely seperate network for that airport express, streaming music from my desktop system, and providing wireless access to my printer. Everything works at top speed, and I don't get any of the drop-outs with airtunes that I got when I was using express as both a hotspot and for streaming. The one catch is that I have to switch wifi networks if I want to print from my laptop, but that only happens about once a week, at most, so it's not a big deal.

I have the old version of the Express, I'm using it to stream my iTunes to my Stereo, what I've found was it's just a ok sound quality, I've read on the Apple Store web sight, you can read Reviews on there Products, on a good Cable Company, not Monster Cable, if anybody thinks Monster is a good Cable, is sadly mistaken, the Company Cable review I was reading was Belden, anybody who knows there Cable knows this company is pretty good, most of the Commercial industry use's Belden, they know it' s a good all around Cable. Well in this review, this person knows you can't get good sound from such a small Analog output, you really need to go through a DAC than to your Stereo. The point I'm trying to make is this New Airport Express can Stream Digital through it's same Mini Plug Port, can some one from MacWorld comment, if this is true, if so than I can stream right to my Stereo DAC, there I would get better Stereo Imaging, I think you can buy a Cable from there on-line store that converts from a Mini Plug to a Toslink, thanks I think there's allot of Stereophile customers out there.
