G4 vs. Pentium

Sigh, I know, I'm sure you think you've heard it before, but...

I was watching the video of Some Guy talking about the G4 vs. P4 and others, and was talking about the pipeline thing. Does this mean that the G4 is better for multitasking and the Pentium better for intensive single programs e.g. games?
Or do I have it all wrong?

I think there are too many other variables, like the OS's own efficiency, to say for sure.

Re: G4 vs. Pentium
PCs win in multitasking. Both Windows XP and Intel's "hyperthreading" chips are better suited for multiple tasks than OS X/G4s.

PCs also win in application speed.

To play Devil's Advocate: Then why use MACs, besides being loyal; for everyday use a P4 would be better then as well? I am afraid I will be shot for posting this

Re: G4 vs. Pentium
This topic doesn't directly pertain to Portables and Handhelds, and we're being strict about this. I would have directed this discussion to another forum, but since we don't currently have an appropriate venue for a G4 vs. P4 discussion, I suggest that you check out the forums at CNET.
