Application Menu alternatives

I love OS X, but I also like switching between applications in the top-right corner. Are there any 3rd party utilities that are compatible with Jaguar and can act as an Application menu replacement? Or are there quicker ways to switch using the system as it is?

There are many; search on VT for "switcher" or "application menu" and you'll find a number of them. I like ASM.

Is command-tab something you're unhappy with, for some reason?

I like Program Switcher, included in Keyboard Maestro, by Michael Kamprath. Find it on VT.

It gives you a small window, with running applications, that you access with Opt-TAB, or other combination that you choose. You can also choose to exclude certain applications that run in the background.

keyboard Maestro is a macro program.

Doesn't compare to what Vieri did.
