Fuji A201 digital camera compatible with Apple?

Is that the case? The Apple site so indicates. But SmartBargains says (even when queried) only that "the operating system requirements for this item are Microsoft Windows 98, ME, 2000." No mention of Mac.

I'm leaning to the 201 for a second family snapshot camera because I already have a 101 that I'm satisfied with and so could use the same (extra) Smartmedia cards and power adaptor. Any comments on that choice?

Thanks.

Apple knows which cameras work with iPhoto. The Fuji is listed, so iPhoto will download directly into the program. Even cameras that are not listed as compatible may be used, as this Knowledgebase article #61391 on How to transfer pictures from incompatible cameras describes.

This no doubt refers to the software bundled with the camera. iPhoto takes care of that for the Mac.

Re: Fuji A201 digital camera compatible with Apple?
For future reference, if you want to know what cameras are compatible with iPhoto, then you only have to go here.

This, however, brings up a point that I think is worth mentioning. Every so often, we get someone coming here to ask if this or that piece of hardware is compatible with the Mac OS. However, if they would just take the time to look on Apple's web site they could fairly easily find the answer for themselves. I found the above web page simply by going to Apple's website and finding their iPhoto web page. At the bottom of the rightmost column on that page are two links. One gives the list of compatible cameras the other gives the list of compatible printers. The same rule applies to all of the iApps. At the bottom of the rightmost column on the individual pages are links to pages listing the compatible peripherals for those programs.

Finally, I am not righting this as criticism of those who keep asking these questions. I am writing more in the spirit of the old saying, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime." By pointing this out, I hope to save people time in the future. Once you know where to look, it is much faster to go to Apple's web site than it is to come here and post a question and then wait for an answer.
