Word icons now generic

I started having various problems with Word and IE, so I reinstalled every Microsoft product. That took care of most problems, but in the 9.2.2 Finder, Word documents still no longer have their proper icons, and instead display a generic document icon, although Get Info still identifies them as Word 2001 documents. So far, this hasn't caused any real issues, but I'd like to fix it.

Thanks for your help.

BTW, if any Macworld people are reading this, it would be nice if your search function in these forums could be limited to finding the word or phrase in the titles only--it would weed out a lot of irrelevant results.

Have you tried rebuilding your desktop database file?

I would also recommend upgrading to Office X. I've been using it for a while now and find it works fine. It is slow and bulky, but what Microsoft product isn't?
