Newbie to Macs!!! Need advice!

Greetings everyone,

I just started work at a place that doesn't own a single PC and I don't have a clue as to where to begin. I know the basics of turning it on and using some of the windows and so forth, but beyond that I'm clueless. Can anyone please provide me with information...links or such...to places or books that I can use to learn to become a proficient user of the Mac OS and eventually on troubleshooting and repairing the computers? I'd really appreciate any help that you can provide.

Best regards,
Blyx

I would say pick up a copy of the latest "Mac OS X: THe Missing Manual" by David Pogue, and ask questions here.

You never stated what operating system you are interested in ....OS 9.x & earlier or OS 10.x.

This will keep you busy for days......

Re: Thanks!
If the place you work bought these Macs first hand then the manuals that came with them must be stashed somewhere.
Ask around, Apple manuals are the best way to start.

Re: Thanks!
I don't think that Macs, come with manuals, My IMac, didn't come with one.

Re: Thanks!
I have now right before me on my table the following:
* Getting started with your PowerBook G4
* Welcome to Mac OS X
* Setting up your Power Mac G4
* Welcome to Mac OS X (again!)
* Welcome to Mac OS X (yes, again in my 10.1 upgrade kit!)
and the list goes on...
If a Mac is bought from Apple or an autorized reseller it's sure to have a getting started guide and manual (not that I ever used them).

I don't know if anyone posted this address before, but I think it's an address you can use: Apple Manuals
