AOL MAIL ERROR -39

Recently I started experiencing an error when starting AOL (for OS X, version 10.3). When I launch AOL it is not be able to find the "Mail Tool" and reports an error=-39. I trashed AOL preferences, downloaded and reinstalled AOL, but the problem persists. This happens whether I connect by modem or by cable. I called AOL Tech Support, but they were of no help.
I know that at least one other person on this board had the same problem, so I know I'm not alone. Can anyone help?

I think someone has also reported that AOL X isn't compatible with Panther. You might have to go back to Jaguar. I don't use AOL so can't comment any further.

I think at the top where you posted "10.3" it appeared you were on Panther.
That's where the confusion came in.

All I know is just trying to REMOVE the OS X version of AOL off a friend's machine was sheer torture.
Wound up reinstalling the partition from scratch.

Felt like Brando in a Cambodian jungle. the horror ...... the horror .......
