It's ba-aaaack!

Do any of you mods/admins recall back a couple of years ago in an earlier version of the forums (UBB that is) when a person could post, then another one would, but the first person couldn't see the reply until that person posted again? I'm not sure, but I think it's doing it again in this thread. I posted early this afternoon, then came back a couple of hours later to it and noticed it showed an unread post with a time-stamp about 2 hours later. After having tried unsuccessfully to view the new post many times (at least a dozen in between looking at other threads, closing the Safari window, changing forums, etc.), I reposted. Ooops, nothing between my earlier post and the test post.

So, either the thread is corrupted somehow, or the other poster deleted the post. But wouldn't that leave a marker of some kind? Thanks for looking into it.

I'm tellin' ya' Grant, no one believes me, but the forums are caddy-wompus and have been for a long time!

I don't know if it's related to your issue but my read-flags STILL don't update until I restart the browser or the machine itself. And this is with several browsers in OSX or WinXP ... AND ... using a completely different ISP connection. (I borrow my neighbors wireless bandwidth - strictly for testin' purposes, ya' 'unnerstand.)

Haven't experienced the phantom posts, though.

Re: It's ba-aaaack!
I was going to post one saying that a couple of days ago, but thought it was just me so didn't bother.

Likewise, not seen the phantom posts though.

Re: It's ba-aaaack!
Ok Grant G, I gotta tell ya, you are 100% correct, I'm experiencing the same problems. It seems to only be this one specific thread, but time will have to play this game, or techies.

Edit: But now that I investigated it, I noticed that the time I posted is the exactly the same time that the other person posted, so is this the problem that you have experienced. I have realized that I could have jumped to conclusion, but I just want to verify.

Edit 2: Yeah I think it was a coincidence, never happened to me before too. But the second I posted, I saw my post move forward, being over taken by another, it was quite odd.

Oh, man, I remember that problem well. Ah, the good 'ol days.

Which browser are you guys using? I'm using Safari and I haven't seen this problem yet...

Re: It's ba-aaaack!
What's wackier is that we're using a different software package now, which makes me believe this is a cache problem.
