switch ipod to mac from windows

my friend bought an ipod and loaded it via his windows machine, now he wants my itunes library. where do i start to switch it to a mac run ipod.
800 mhz ibook g3 panther 10.3.2

You don't need to do anything but to connect the iPod. Win formatted iPods will work flawlessly on Macs, the other way round is a bit trickier. Then of course there might be a slight legal issue by giving all your songs to your friend.

I have a windows-formatted ipod that works perfectly with itunes on my mac. BUT it won't let me update the ipod software, which I suspect is because it's in windows format. Even tried restoring the ipod, but it wouldn't restore -- that beachball just kept on spinning till I gave up and force-quit. When I checked it, nothing had changed. Anyone out there with any advice? Thanks!
