The New Double Layer DVD burners, compatible?

Will the double layer DVD be compatible with most DVD players at home, and wich software you need?

Re: The New Double Layer DVD burners, compatible?
All your home DVD players are already dual-layer compatible. Virtually all commercial DVDs of Hollywood movies are 'recorded' on dual-layer discs. That's why when you put the disc in your computer it says the disc is often around 7.5 GB in size. Currently DVD burners only support writing to single-layer discs, which are 4.7GB discs. To burn a dual-layer disc, you will need to purchase a dual-layer burner. If current apps are currently unable to burn to the future dual-layer burners, then I would suspect to see Toast 7.0 and OS X 10.4.x include this feature.
