iPod headphones

Hi,

Does anybody know of any decent headphones to go with the iPod, because I don't really like the ones that came with it.

I've been recommended the Sony MDR-V700DJ Professional Headphones, does anybody know if they are any good, or can you recommend any others (headphones rather than earphones)

Thanks for the help!

Re: iPod headphones
You're looking for full headphones?

Personally, I have two sets of headphones I use with my iPod. They are some Sony earbuds that are lightweight, comfortable, sound isolating, and sound pretty good (for earbuds) and a set of Grado SR-80 headphones that are much larger, not all that portable, supra-aural (others can hear what you're listening to if they listen and you turn it up, and they don't sound isolate), and sound AMAZING.

Re: iPod headphones
They're pretty comfortable, though I've read some people get bothered after a while. There's a half dozen reviews on the net for them if you want to get some better, more informed opinions.

If I might be so bold:

(As for the MDR-V700DJ, I don't recommend them -- for the same price, or less, there are a lot of better options out there.)

Also, there just might be a headphone-related article coming soon... somewhere...

Re: iPod headphones
I'm assuming you mean the PX 100 and PX 200?

Re: iPod headphones
If you want full coverage on your ears, I recommend the Senneiser HD-280. A little pricey, but they are awesome. I'd like to try the PX100/PX200 at some point. The HD-280 are a bit bulky to carry around.

Re: iPod headphones
The HD 280 offer excellent isolation -- probably the best of any "over the ears" (closed) headphone. I also really like the PX 100 and PX 200.

That being said, if you're looking for closed, full-size headphones, be sure to try the Beyerdynamic DT 231. They cost around $60, sound great with the iPod, and are extremely comfortable. A true "find" in headphones.

(If you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a headphone fanatic )
