acrobat pdfs in safari

My credit card company offers an online function to view past statements as pdf-files and print them accordingly. Problem: if I (OSX 10.3.4. user) open their website in Internet Explorer (5.2.3), I get an error message calling it an 'Unidentified file type' and offering an option to 'Save file as...'. If I do that, I can open the file & print it just fine. In Safari (1.2.2 (v125.8)), I can view everything perfectly, opens in new window, etc - but won't create or print a pdf. I can, using the "print" mode and then "save as pdf" create a pdf-file: a beautiful blank white page!

Spoke with the bank: they're open for suggestions and tips how to upadte their site to make it Mac-compatible, but have no idea where to start... Their spirit is willing, but their mind is all microsftened !!

I tried the tip from "d00d" to download a plug-un from schubert.it - it works fine, but i was wondering: is that a link I could just send to their customer service to forward to desparate mac-usinf customers in times of need, or is there a more "official" way to get this fixed?

Are PDFs viewable in Safari? I find it always downloads them to my desktop (automatically), and then I can view them in Preview. Internet Explorer displays them in a sort of acrobat-insert window within the main IE one. (At least in Windows.)

That plug-in is about as official as it is going to get for now. Adobe is refusing to make a PDF plugin for OS X browsers and Apple isn't doing much better. The plug-in is free for personal and educational use, so it's perfectly fine for your credit card company to send that to customers.
