New to Entourage - a few dumb questions

I'm liking Entourage better than Mail because Entourage segregates email into separate folders by user name. However:

1. Entourage set up "Folders on My Computer" for the first email address I input. It's like it's treated as my primary default email account. I don't want any primary default account. I just want co-equal email accounts with folder names other than "Folders on My Computer." Can I delete "Folders on My Computer"?

2. I don't trust keeping email on the .Mac server. AOL just let me choose that all Received emails were automatically saved to a folder on my hard drive, if I opened them. I see that I can manually move an email in Entourage or Save As a text file. But it isn't automatic. The Help manual isn't very helpful.

Thanks.

I don't know. ... I was wondering why you don't trust keeping email on the .Mac server? Have you experienced any problems with that email?

Re: New to Entourage - a few dumb questions
1. I think what you mean (for POP accounts) is:
Open E's Tools/Accounts.
Select account to Edit. Click Options at top of Edit Account dialog.
Check "allow on-line access" option.

For IMAP accounts, this should already work that way, a different Mailbox icon for each account.

2. Choose File/New/Subfolder, one for each account.
Choose Tools/Rules.
Add a Rule, if "Account Is XXX" to Move Message to Folder for account XXX.
Repeat for each account.

*. If you want to avoid a "default sender account" when composing a New Message (so you don't send from wrong account accidentally), I do this: Make a New Account named "SELECT ACCOUNT" - specify a dummy (invalid) SMTP server address so you can't send with it. Make it your default account (Tools/Accounts dialog). Now you have to explicitly choose a sending account from the "From" pull-down of the Compose window before you can send a New message. (Replies automatically are "From" whichever account received them.)
