Thanks Grant, I think I'm going to try a copy of Virus Barrier.

I didn't think there was a whole lot of danger out there, but one of my users is sure she has a virus because her "hard drive is running all the time, even when there's no reason for it to be running."

I think it's more likely that a couple of her apps are calling the mother ship, or something is indexing her hard drive in the background like Sherlock or Norton Filesaver. Since we needed to update anyway, I thought I'd ask.
