Clumps in my Nodes

I am continually reluctant to do more in OS X because I do not understand it as well as OS 9.2.2.

My latest problem is that I installed OS 10.3 on a clean hard drive. Then I ran Norton Disk Doctor from Norton Systemworks 3.0 and keep getting a message saying that the clump size of various nodes is incorrect. I click on the FIX button and re-run Norton Disk Doctor and get the same error message.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to fix this problem? Should I be using some utility other than Norton?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
