HELP with wireless

I got my family a ibook with airport extreme adn base station for christmas - i have that set up with a cable modem - it is totally wireless. THe problem is they have a mac desktop G4 without an extreme card in it - actually the G4 is 2 years old and has never been updated. it had 9 x 10.1 on it - in any case how can i set that up so that will have internet access also. I bought a router but don;t know where to start. Do i hook the airport to the router, the desktop to the router and the router to my cable modem? Or would it be easier to take the router back, buy an airport extreme card and get that in the desktop - and if i did that, would i have to upgrade that system? I am so lost!! Thanks in advance

Re: HELP with wireless
If you got an Airport Extreme Base Station (not Airport Express), it should have a LAN port on the back (in addition to the WAN port). You should be able to run an ethernet from that port to the G4. The router should be unnecessary.
