I'm going to get my first Mac...15" or 17" PB??

the 15" superdrive and 17" PB
except the screen size, resolution and video ram(if I buy the 15", I will upgrade the VRAM to 128MB also)
any big difference??
extra money worth for the 17" model??
as I know the only difference is the built-in speaker and optical output
my PB is used for some graphic schoolwork and daily use such as browsing internet, watching DVD, etc..
p.s. I don't mind the size and mobilty, I use it as a desktop replacement~

thx for reply

Re: I'm going to get my first Mac...15" or 17" PB??
JasonKit,

I fretted when I was deciding on my new PB. I was either going to go with a 15 inch or a 17, but finally decided on a 15.

I guess guess it just depends on what you want really. Now that I got my 15" PB G4, I couldn't be more happier with it. I think that if I would have ordered the 17 inch, it would have been too big for protability and so forth.

The 17" is probably a breathtaker, but the 15" is probably the best compromise for portability if you are taking your laptop to class and soforth.

If I could give you some advice at the moment, I would order the 15" with the extra HD and Ram and whatever you wanted to add onto it. I think the 15" is the best value you could possilbly purchase at the monent, and I am totally satisfied with my purchase.

Hope I"ve helped you out!!!

Jonathan

I would go with the 15. I also wrestled with this problem myself, 15 or 17, and the only thing I would swing me would be the 128 MB video card. If you can add it to the 15, then go this one instead of the 17.

The portability of the 15 vs. 17 is so much better. If you need extra screen space, you can always hook it up to an external monitor. However when hauling it around for personal/ business use, the 15 is just a bit more comfortable...And that does make a big difference.

I have owned both before, trust me, that 17" is a pain to haul around. I took one with me on my deployment to Iraq and I found out real quick that it isn't conveniently portable.

The 15" hits that sweet spot.

Yes, that is correct.
