We have been using MYOB AccountEdge for a little over two years now. It does everything we did on QB and more. It is comparable to QB Pro.
Even though we have used MYOB for a couple years nows, my assistant and I still have not adjusted to the MYOB way of getting things done. Either we were "trained" after using QB for a few years and are having difficuly adapting or QB design is more intuitive and thus easier to use. I think it's a little of both. You can definitely get things done. It just might take a little more clicking around.
We didn't take any training courses for either software. I am a trained accountant, my assistant is not.
One other variable that I don't like. We are looking to convert back to QB Pro 2005 and it tuens out there is no convesion utility to bring our records back over to QB. Ouch.

Quickbooks is pretty much the industry standard. You will ALWAYS find gripes and complaints on the forums for Qb and any other software program. Take a look at the Macworld forums and you will see plenty of gripes in all the rooms for all reasons, from supposed Mac lovers.
I was going to add too -- if you need to share your data with anyone, an accountant for example, MYOB will NOT work...you must have quickbooks files which will be able to be converted and used by your accountant.

I'd stopped using Quickbooks/Quicken almost a decade ago. I used Money, thereafter, in the Wintel world.
Now, switching to a Mac, Quicken came with the Mini. As far as I was concerned, it still was lame. Money wasn't available for the Mac.
I did a free trial of Moneydance -- and, then, purchased it. I'm pretty happy with the critter. Saying so, it may not have enough horsepower for property management. Why not download the free trial http://moneydance.com/ and see if it works. It easily imports .qif or .ofx files; so, you should be able to wring it out.

Re: QuickBooks vs MYOB
I have been using MYOB for a few years now. I had been using Quicken personally, and looking to Quickbooks, but they were lagging (like Quark) on support for OS X, so I gave MYOB a spin. Things have worked out pretty well, and I have had no issues with accountants on the files. Also, there is an accountant software module that is provided free, in case that is an issue, and many accountants support the software. In any case, even in the PC world, there are other systems, with much more capability than either Quickbooks or MYOB that are used, and accountants have to deal with.
