unable to install Adobe Creative Suite on my OS X

hi,
i m a newbie who just switch from pc to mac.

problem
the system prompts me that 'an unexpected error occured while installing AdobeMingStd-Light-Acro.otf 1008:17,-9' when it is installing the photoshop cs.

*i have tried both install directly from CD and copied the whole cd to my desktop and install it from desktop.

may i know how to solve it?

Repair permissions using Disk Utility, then try installing again.

just to be sure, you are logged in as an administrator, is that correct?

and yeah, id start by trying repair permissions (Applications > Utilites > Disk Utility) ...

thanks for all replies,

i login with my own ID, and it did show me that my id is a administrator account. again, it did prompt me for password b4 i start to install any application. am i using the correct id?

yes, i did repair permissions by using the disk utility. it still prompt me the same error

until now still no hope to install Adobe Creative Suite...

I wonder if something's wrong with your System? A way to find out might be to do an Archive and Install. That way your System would be replaced without disrupting things; however, that same lack of disruption could possibly mean the problem would still exist. If you did an A&I with the "Retain user settings" checkbox NOT checked, it would probably solve the problem ... but it would entail a lot of work setting up your System again. Just a suggestion, but obviously your choice.
