Feedbag error 10?

I own a 2004 15 inch powerbook with OSX Panther. I've tried numerous times to add buddies in Ichat, and all i receive is "Feedbag error 10" So far I've added people to my address book first, typed the name instead of choosing "add buddy", deleted old screen names, but nothing has worked. I do select AIM instead of .Mac from the pulldown menu when adding the name, so that is not the problem. Help? Please.

Re: Feedbag error 10?
Feedbag Error 10 is connected to your Buddies details already being in the Buddy list or the Address Book and you trying to add the same person under a different screen name.
Either delete the previous entry or....
add the second screen name after the first one with a comma in between in the Address Book (ralphjohnr,rlph820) in either the AIM or @Mac entry points.
Alternatively the names can be added in this way to the Buddy Info Accounts name when you use the Apple Key and "i" together when a Buddy is highlighted in the Buddy list.

Re: Feedbag error 10?
Try deleting these plist files.

com.apple.iChat.AIM.plist
com.apple.iChat.plist
com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist
com.apple.iChatAgent.plist

These are in Users/(your account)/Library/Prefrences.

Also delete com.AOL.aim.plist to sort a similar problem with the AIM for Mac application.

Re: Feedbag error 10?
Make sure you have a single group set in iChat (View - Show Groups). Add a group using the slideout drawer that you get when you select Show Groups. Give it the name "Buddies", a default group that AIM uses. Once you add this group, then iChat should let you add people to the Buddy List.

If you also have an account with AOL using the same screen name as with iChat, you should make sure that you have "allowed" all users on your AOL account as well as the iChat account. You may have "Blocking On" on your AOL Account.
