Anti-virus Program

I know that this topic has been discussed ad infinitum and i know that an anti-virus program is not really necessary for an Apple, at this time, but what is the best program for an Apple.

At present, I am using Virus Barrier X.

Suggestions and comments would be welcomed....

Thanks

Re: Anti-virus Program
You are right that there is no reported need for an AV program for OS X, yet.

At my work (UVa) we license Norton AntiVirus for Windows and Mac (currently 10.0.1 for the OS X users), and have for years. Note this is Symantec's stand-along AV program, not part of any utility/bundle packacge.

It has run fine on my Mac's since OS X 10.1, and hundreds of others here. There have been, periodically, issues with upgrading, when a new version of OS X comes out. To be honest, most of those have been due to users not paying attention to the upgrade instructions (ie. not Norton AV per se).

Just my experience, and second hand, those of several hundered UVa users.

Re: Anti-virus Program
One can still be infected with Word/Excel Macro virii. One poster on Apple's Support site has had his Mac infected.

Re: Anti-virus Program
Now that virex is not available to tiger, I'm looking for a good anti-virus program and I am thinking from what i've read that norton is the best. are there any .mac members out there who've run into this same issue?
