In reply to:
The 4G iPods were introduced on July 19, 2004. If you bought your 3G 4 months prior to that, then you bought it in March 2004 -- which is definitely not six months ago.
I bought my 3G about 4 months before the 4G ipods came out

In reply to:
That's a completely valid point. I would add the lack of upgrade pricing for OS X. The included coupons are deceptive and worthless. I would also include QuickTime "Pro" and the forced upgrade to version 7.
there are some things that Apple has been doing lately that are just plain wrong and screwing paying users. Dotmac is a good example, the promised dotmac widgets "coming soon" over 6 months ago and they have yet to appear.

In reply to:
Jobs is unquestionably a genius when it comes to products and marketing, but don't forget that the main reason he and Woz lost Apple years ago was that he is not a businessman. The fact that Apple is nowhere to be seen in the NASCAR world is hardly an accident. Sadly, Stevie lets his political ideology get in the way of what a should be a no-brainer. Jobs is an unabashed liberal. Nothing wrong with that - it's a free country. What's wrong is letting his ideology hurt the company. NASCAR fans have money - lots of it. and they like there toys. But they are by and large conservative (at least stereotyped as such) and Stevie will have none of that.
NASCAR fans are notoriously loyal to the brand(s) that sponsors their favorite driver(s). If Apple were to sponsor a NASCAR driver you can bet there would be a large jump in sales that could be directly attributed to the sponsorship.
Just because the fans of stock car racing are stereotyped as hicks doesn't mean they don't have money or that they don't spend that money on technology.
