iMovie HD Audio Problem

When importing clips into iMovie HD's timeline, the first few frames of audio cannot be removed.

We've tried importing with no sound, zeroing out the audio of the clip, and extracting the audio to no avail. When listening to the extracted audio by itself, there is no sound - but it is still at the beginning of the video! We've trimmed the video intro, split it into separate clips, put a transition at the beginning of the clip, and reimported the video (multiple times). This is on several different clips (but not all) from the same camera, same tape, same shoot.

Any idea on how this problem can be fixed? We're going crazy.

Re: iMovie HD Audio Problem
wow, i have no idea what's wrong, but i do have a suggestion.

If some of those audio clips make noise, you can set the volume to zero. Click the clip, and there's a volume slider on the very bottom of the iMovie window.

I'm sorry that i don't have any other suggestions, but i hope that will help in the mean time!

Re: iMovie HD Audio Problem
Yes! this problem is driving me crazy too!! This is not a problem obviously with clips where the audio is relatively quiet - but with clips with loud audio it is a pain!

One thing I've found is that it doesn't happen on every clip - just on some. On one clip where this was happening I got the audio to disappear when I chopped off the first part of the clip - but it didn't work on all. Go figure! Ahh!
