Intel Macs & Adobe CS2

I read in the latest issue that there are some problems involving the new Intel Macs & Adobe's Creative Suite 2 Apps. I am looking to purchase some iMacs this summer and run the applications on them.

What kind of problems am I looking at??
Thanks

Re: Intel Macs & Adobe CS2
Well, the only "problem" I'm aware of is that Adobe's apps aren't Universal yet, meaning they run in Rosetta and suffer about a 50% speed hit for doing so. I tested CS2 on my mini in Rosetta, and it ran fine, albeit somewhat slowly.

Adobe isn't expected to have a new version until late 2006 or early 2007, based on what's been said...

Rob,

Do you, or anyone else know how InDesign CS, version 3.0.1 works with the new intel Macs?
Will it load correctly on the intel Mac?

My software is basically Apples iLife, MS Office:mac X. Except for InDesign.

I'm using OS 10.3.9 on a iMac G4. Obviously the PPC.

Peter

Thanks

If there's a demo, I'll download it and try it

I found a demo for version 4.0, it seems to run perfectly fine. I can't test 3.0.1, but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work.

Rob,

I don't know how often you get thanked but thank you for taking the time and effort to demo my question.

Questions, answers and the effort (like you gave) by many on this site is what keeps me coming back to Macworld.

It has pushed me a little closer to getting a MBP.

Re: Intel Macs & Adobe CS2
It's my understanding that the Universal version will be the next major release, i.e. CS3. So, no, I don't think it will be downloadable. It's apparently a major rewrite of their codebase to go Universal.

As to when to buy, that really depends on when you need it
